Important Deadlines:
Texas business owners are required to file Form 50-144, Business Personal Property Rendition every year. A 10% penalty will be applied if not filed by the deadline date of April 15th.
Form 50-129 - Applications for 1-d-1 (Open-Space) Agricultural Use Appraisal (Ag Exemption Application) are due before May 1st.
1-d-1 Open Space Agricultural Valuation Wildlife Management Annual Report for 2026 are due before May 1st.

VISIT TEXAS.GOV/PROPERTYTAXES TO FIND A LINK TO YOUR LOCAL PROPERTY TAX DATABASE ON WHICH YOU CAN EASILY ACCESS INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR PROPERTY TAXES, INCLUDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF TAXES THAT EACH ENTITY THAT TAXES YOUR PROPERTY WILL IMPOSE IF THE ENTITY ADOPTS ITS PROPOSED TAX RATE. YOUR LOCAL PROPERTY TAX DATABASE WILL BE UPDATED REGULARLY DURING AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER AS LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS PROPOSE AND ADOPT THE PROPERTY TAX RATES THAT WILL DETERMINE HOW MUCH YOU PAY IN PROPERTY TAXES.

The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).
